Local Governance International Learning Exchange
December, 2010

On the 5th of December eleven eager participants and two MCIC representatives from Macedonia arrived to the ever decreasing temperatures of Belfast, Northern Ireland for the return leg of the international earning exchange on Local Governance, the second exchange of the MOST programme.
The delegates were from both regional and local level; from Skopje, we had representatives from both Ministry of Local Self Government and ZELS similar to NILGA). The Tearce municipality was represented by its Mayor Mr Isen Asani and the President of Center for education and development(CED) Mr. Metin Muaremi. There was both political and community representation. Habituated to cold winters, all arrived in good spirits, undaunted by the weather.
The programme for the Macedonian delegation was a collaboration between MNI and the Omagh participants who had visited this region in late October. The week was perhaps one of the coldest spells on record in Northern Ireland.
